About us
We’re Crystal Game Works, an indie video game development studio that specializes in queer visual novels that focus on various forms of love. Most of our games are fantasy stories inspired by shounen anime and manga and Victorian media. We’re fans of otome, boys love, and girls love and want to share our stories with you!
Our studio started in 2018 with the release of That Which Binds Us with some of our members having made games for years prior.
Our current projects are Harlequinade, a timeloop horror romance visual novel inspired by commedia dell’arte, and Lost Lune, a queer post-apocalyptic visual novel about a hellish world set in an eternal winter. Our most recent projects were Crimson Waves on the Emerald Sea: Amaranthine Moon, a Victorian vampire otome game, Asphodelium, a melancholic boys love visual novel about killing cults, and Canvas Menagerie, a wholesome boys love visual novel about a group of actors navigating their mid-20s together.
We also run various events, like the annual Otome Game Jam, Josei Jam, Winter Visual Novel Jam, Battle Action Fantasy Jam, and the Steam festival Otome Games Celebration!
